Saengerfest brings together Swiss choirs from across North America in a celebration of music, culture, and community. It is a living tapestry of voices, traditions, and community! Ottawa last hosted Saengerfest in 1994, and in 2027 the city will once again resonate with Swiss song, culture, and camaraderie. Join us for an unforgettable weekend of song!

Our festival is proudly supported by NASSA (North American Swiss Singing Alliance), the Montagna Singers, and local Swiss clubs. More participating choirs will be announced as the event approaches.

Thursday, July 1, 2027

  • Arrival of delegates

  • Opening banquet

  • Opening festivities with fireworks show (weather permitting)

Friday, July 2, 2027

  • Free time to visit Ottawa

  • Delegates meeting

  • Conductors meeting

  • Competition singing

  • Off-site dinner

  • Note: No lunch served

Saturday, July 3, 2027

  • Grand Concert rehearsal

  • Grand Concert

  • Afterglow

  • Note: A large part of the morning and afternoon will be spent at Carleton Dominion-Chalmers Centre.

Sunday, July 4, 2027

  • Ecumenical service

  • Closing and awards brunch

  • Note: No breakfast served. Free time until 11:30 am for those not attending Ecumenical service.
